Are Used Macintosh Computers a Good Buy, or Should You Just Say Goodbye?

Second-hand, second user and used computers are what you would expect in that they have had a previous owner. Often, items listed online are being offered at a great reduction from their original cost. Used computers are a relatively good opportunity to get a very well specified PC at a low cost. Notice I didn't say top spec computer. Let's be realistic, you are not going to get a top-spec computer at a used price, OK. You can however get a very good spec machine at a realistic price.

Note to those who are buying their first computer: used Macintosh computers are a great choice for beginners.

Reputable online dealers use experienced and certified technicians to restore used Macintosh computers to perfect operating condition by thoroughly inspecting, repairing and/or cleaning. They are guaranteed to work and come with a 30 day money back guarantee. It is possible to get branded computers on a second sale, and though they are second hand computers but they are branded and also have a 3,6, or even a 12 month warranty sometimes, so it is advisable to check around.

A common misunderstanding by many people is that they think  a used computer will take too much effort to maintain. That's definitely not the case. Many mechnical parts, including the keyboard and mouse, have usually been replaced with either new or refurbished ones. Often you'll find that buying a new PC is not more cost effective than replacing used computers. Bear that in mind.

Prices on used computers are extremely tempting and as I said before, are widely available online. So many are available because companies frequently upgrade leased computers after only a year or two. So these barely used computers become available. It's a great setting for someone watching his or her money.

Buying used Macintosh computers from a shop isn't usually recommended, not only because is it difficult to find a reputable dealer, but also because a good warranty isn't offered and the computer may not have been checked to find out if it works properly. In the same vein, I wouldn't bother with personal ads, either - there's no chance of a guarantee there. I have been encouraging you to use online dealers due to these reasons. They have a system in place to deal with the inspection, repair and cleaning of used computers as well as being able to offer you a warranty.

If you're aren't provided with some type of guarantee, find another place on the web. Finally, make sure that you carefully examine what you are purchasing. Read the small print and find out whether you are getting a monitor or not and whether you have Windows installed. It isn't always true, so ask!
